 | | | | | IBA Small Business Advocates-Making Public Policy Our Business |
| | For over 35 years, the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin (IBA) has been a leading voice for small and independent business on both state and federal issues. A member-driven, state-wide, non-profit association, IBA represents over 200 small business owners who employ thousands of Wisconsin workers. |
 | | IBA's members are diverse and small business owners including those in service, professional and manufacturing industries. Monthly programming in Milwaukee and Madison gives you chances to meet other entrepreneurs who share your concerns about succeeding in today's business climate. |
 | | IBA's monthly programming includes Breakfast club meetings in Milwaukee and Madison where small business owners share their "War Stories"-how they've succeeded in their companies and mistakes they've made. Some speakers include: Tim Hoeksema, CEO, Midwest Airlines; John Jazwiec, RedPrairie; John Torinus, Serigraph; Helen Johnson Leopold, Johnson Family of Companies; Brian Dodge, Nationally acclaimed motivational speaker; Tony Snow, Fox News; and Ireland's Consul General. Alternatively, IBA breakfast meetings also feature State and Federal programs, with legislative and government speakers from Madison and Washington. |
 | Through our paid lobbyist in Madison, and through committees of volunteers, IBA monitors and speaks out on legislative issues that directly impact your bottom-line like:
- Education Reform
- Environmental and Energy Issues
- Health Care Reform
- Labor and Employment Issues
- Competitive Opportunities for Wisconsin (privatization)
- State Budget Reduction
- Tax and Capital Formation
|
 | Our volunteer members write position papers, work with key Legislators and Regulators, testify before committee hearings, and get appointed to legislative commissions. They speak out on behalf of small business and small business owners. That's the key difference between IBA and other small business associations. In IBA, Legislators hear from real, live small business owners who are providing jobs and driving the economy.
