2026 Wisconsin Manufacturing Summit

Wisconsin's manufacturing economy is in growth mode, largely driven by innovation and new technology. The IBAW Manufacturing Summit puts you in the room with two of the people at the center of it:

John Miller, Secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, will open the program with a look at where the state's manufacturing economy stands today and what's coming next.

Then Miller sits down for a moderated conversation with Serafino Fabiano of Eli Lilly, the executive leading Lilly's $4 billion manufacturing expansion in Kenosha County. Lilly's project in Wisconsin is the largest investment in the company's history outside its home state of Indiana and is expected to bring hundreds of advanced manufacturing, engineering, and science jobs to southeastern Wisconsin along with more than 2,000 construction jobs. The Lilly project has made Southeast Wisconsin a serious player in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and this is a rare chance to hear directly from the leaders shaping that growth. Don't miss it.

Join the IBAW for an afternoon of fun and fellowship at our 12th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at the Waukesha Gun Club.

Come by yourself and we'll hook you up with a team OR bring your business associates or employees to create your own team. Gather up a team of 4 or 5 and there's special sponsorship opportunities available. Contact office@ibaw.com for details or any questions.

Our event is held rain or shine - dress appropriately. Really bad weather? We'll still shoot with enclosed 5 Stand Stations. Bad weather is NOT an issue!

Creating Classroom to Career Talent Pipelines

IBAW is pleased to announce that AJ Villarreal, State Workforce Manager for transfr will be our speaker at our monthly meeting on October 16th, 2026.

Transfr is an immersive virtual reality platform that helps school districts, workforce boards, employers, nonprofits, and reentry organizations prepare individuals for high-demand, high-wage careers. Through hands-on VR simulations, learners can explore over 60 careers across all 15 career clusters—including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and more. Learners then move into Transfr Train learning industry-aligned skills such as OSHA and NCCER across 8 different disciplines. The result is greater career confidence, stronger workforce readiness, and individuals who are prepared to succeed from day one on the job.

What if I delegate and lose control?

How can I be certain the quality of work won’t be compromised?

Once decisions have been made by a group of individuals, the next step is to determine, “Who will do what, when, and to what standard?” Delegation is the process of sharing responsibility for results. Leaders determine the ultimate objective to be met and the resources available, yet they share and collaborate on the plan of action.

After completing this session, we can demonstrate the steps of the delegation process to train and develop valuable team members while maintaining accountability and control.

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to develop and train others
Plan and prepare for a delegation meeting
Communicate clear performance standards for follow-up and accountability
Identify elements of, and apply the empowerment cycle
Use Human Relations principles to coach toward empowerment
